Comic-Con: Update!

Oh my! I haven't updated the blog in a while!

So, last week I went to Comic-Con, just like last year.
The best day was Saturday, on Friday and Sunday there weren't many people around, but business was still good :)
I met some awesome people, and I was very glad to be visited by some of my watchers!

I'll post a print I was selling at the convention soon!

Dot exercise

Recently, I got this assignment in Arts class, in which I had to draw a tree in an A3 sized paper and use dots to render half of it, in graphite.

 Stimulating, right?

After spending 3 hours making dots, I started to wonder if there was a way I could speed up the process of making so many dots... maybe replace the needle in a sewing machine with a pencil? (Not a good idea!)

After coming up with a few ideas and testing what worked and what didn't work, I decided to try this cordless jig-saw machine:

Then, I taped a short pencil to the blade:

 And dot away!

This worked really nicely, and I was able to finish the work in 2~3 hours, instead of the 5~6 hours it would take if I had made it by hand.

Here's the final result (note that half of it was rendered with dots, and the rest with lines and mesh):

I think I might use this again in future works :)

WIP- Palutena

Aaaaand, it's finished!

I've wanted to draw Palutena ever since I saw her action figure in a games' store, so here it is!
It's A3 sized and everything was made with markers.

Hope you like it!

It's an illustration of an Irish folk song called Salley Gardens.

Hope you like it ^_^

Portrait commissions

Here's one of the commissions I've done:D
The dimension of the chibi portrait is A5 and the other one is A3. t's what I call a "Character mix portrait", because the person is portraied with the clothes of a fictional character (in this case, Khaleesi's clothes, from Game of Thrones).

Got new stuff coming soon!

Jude and Milla

Jude and Milla dancing! I thought it suited the characters :)

I have to say this painting didn't really turn out as I wanted it to, because I tried to make a bit of lineart, but the colour I chose was too dark for this and it wasn't necessary.
I think the shadows are good and I particularly like how Jude's hair turned out, though.

Constructive critiques are always welcome!

I'll protect you

I'm currently playing Tales of Xillia and it's such a great game, I decided to draw some of the game's characters.

Here's Alvin taking care of little Elise :3
Elise was running away from the Exodus's guys and Alvin took care of them.

Made with Markers.

I'll paint Milla and Jude next.

 Here's my latest project- a postcard :)
I did it for fun, but to be honest I don't really like the outcome of the illustration. I'll do another one... maybe a watercolor.

Monday 25 May 2015

Here's a fast painting for Arts class. It took me an hour and a half to make, and I had fun, because it's good to make something simpler once in a while :)

It has a video tutorial with the painting process.
 Hope you like it!

Fairies' Cathedral

This is a personal artwork :D It has a lot of symbols, and I'd love to know your interpretations!

It was the first time I used markers on an A3 sized paper. I discovered it's easier to blend the colours on a heavier paper than on the lighter one I usually work with.

However, this didn't turn out like I wanted it to... well, practice makes perfect!

The small comic is still on the way, because I took a break to make this. I like to make a few projects simultaneously, because it helps me keep my vision fresh :)
It might take a while to upload the comic, since it's a very big project (even bigger than "Final Battle". That one took me 3 months to complete with no in between artworks!).

Meanwhile, more projects will be created!

Final Battle

Yayyy!! After 3 months, I could finally finish this painting.
I had been wanting to make a painting with a lot of details for a while, and thought that remaking an old work would be a good idea.
The hardest part of this was rendering Demise's arm. I had to do all the scales one by one and that really took a lot of time, but I believe it was worth it.

Here's the old painting, for you to compare:

This painting was made in December of 2012, and the most recent is from today, 18th February 2015 (started it in December of 2014).
Constructive critiques are always welcome! :D

(Late) Happy New Year!!!

Hello and Happy New Year to you! :D

Here's something I've been working on recently. I'm redoing a painting I did two years ago to compare and see if there's any improvement.
I'm also working on an anatomy tutorial I promised on Facebook, for when I reached 50 likes on the page (it's going on 60 likes now, gotta hurry up ^_^; ).

I'll be absent for a bit here on the blog, because I've got a bunch of work to do, but I'll post new stuff as soon as I can :D

Meanwhile, I'm looking for support to help me get to more conventions. You can support me, if you wish, by donating on Patreon!

Thanks for reading!!
